Candidate Statement: Hannah Humphrey for Treasurer 2022-2023

Hi OSCA! My name is Hannah Humphrey and I am running to be your 2022-2023 OSCA treasurer. I am a third year math and politics double major. I currently live and dine in Tank, so some of you may recognize me from sitting at the dining table all day and night working. I am one of your Food Coordinators, responsible for supporting your food buyers, communicating with all of our food vendors, and helping with all food related issues.

I have loved working as Food Coordinator, and I would love to take on a role in helping to sustain OSCA in the long term. As Food Coordinator, I have gained invaluable experience working and communicating with various teams to distribute work and problem-solve. This past semester, my co, Ella, and I have worked hard to improve the food-buying experience. I hope to pursue positions in cooperatives beyond college, which increases my dedication to investing time and energy in OSCA.

In addition to my experience in OSCA, I have worked as a treasurer and member of the logistics team for Oberlin Sunrise, where I wrote budgets and numerous proposals for ad hoc, the process by which student orgs get extra funding (for which I successfully received funding). In that role I also filled out proposals, kept track of receipts and expense reports and was responsible for keeping track of and managing funding from the National Sunrise organization.

In both my math and politics classes at Oberlin as well as a past internship, I work with large amounts of data, which will transfer well to managing the budget and analyzing our financial reports. Another of my strengths is my organization which I maintain using a weekly schedule, a categorized list of every (school and work) assignment due for the semester, and gcal for all events. This system will allow me to reliably stay on top of the various responsibilities the treasurer holds.

Finally, I will be on campus throughout the entirety of the 2022-2023 school year.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me at hhumphre@oberlin.edu or find me at my beloved table.

I hope you will consider voting for me to be your treasurer!
